Danny Guttman, Managing Partner
Danny Guttman is Co-Founder and
Managing Partner of G&H Ventures.
Prior to founding G&H Ventures,
Mr. Guttman was CEO, Director, and co-founder of Delek
Capital Ltd, the financial services arm of the Delek
Group, one of Israel’s largest and most profitable
conglomerates with global interests in financial
services, energy, and infrastructure. Mr. Guttman led
the acquisition of the Texas-based Republic insurance
group in 2006 and served as its Chairman
post-acquisition. Following the acquisition, the
Republic group expanded both in Texas and into several
additional states. Republic’s insurance premiums grew
from less than $500 million (pre-acquisition) to over
$900 million in 2009.
Mr. Guttman also served on the
Board of Directors and on the Audit Committee of the
Phoenix Insurance Group, one of Israel’s largest and
publicly traded insurance groups. The Phoenix Insurance
Group, a leading insurer in property & casualty, life,
and health insurance, has assets in excess of $50
billion. Mr. Guttman served on the Board of the
Phoenix Insurance Group between 2007 and 2010.
Prior to joining Delek, Mr.
Guttman was CEO and co-founder of Clal Finance Ltd, one
of Israel’s largest non-bank financial institutions with
subsidiaries operating in the areas of portfolio
management, provident funds, mutual funds, pension
funds, equity research, securities underwriting,
mortgages, and financial advisory services. Mr. Guttman
led the mergers and acquisitions which was a crucial
part of building the company from scratch into a
financial leader with total assets under management of
$15 billion and over 300 employees.
Prior to co-founding Clal
Finance, Mr. Guttman managed the Project & Corporate
Finance Division at Clal Insurance, Israel’s largest
property & casualty insurer. Mr. Guttman also headed the
division at Clal Insurance dealing exclusively with
financial insurance products.
While at the Stockholm School of
Economics, Mr. Guttman led a major on-site business
development program for the market penetration of
Ericsson’s cellular systems in China and Hong Kong. Mr.
Guttman built a marketing and financial strategy for
Ericsson on the Chinese market which later became
Ericsson’s largest market.
Non-profit work: Mr. Guttman is
Chairman of the investment committees of the Foundations
of Akiba Academy of Dallas and Yavneh Academy of Dallas.
He also serves as Chairman of the Congregation Shaare
Tefilla Foundation in Dallas. He has served as a Member
of the Finance Committee and the Planning & Allocation
Committee of the Jewish Federation of Greater Dallas.
Mr. Guttman has also served as Vice Chairman of the
Texas-Israel Chamber of Commerce.
Mr. Guttman has a Masters of
Science Degree in Economics and Business Administration
from the Stockholm School of Economics.
Mr. Guttman resides with his
wife and four children in Dallas, Texas, USA.
